During the commemoration of the 47th anniversary of the triumph of the Islamic Revolution, he recalled that his nation has always fought for its independence from foreign powers, all of which have tried to stop the progress of the Persian people through coups and external aggression.

At Tehran’s Azadi Square, Pezeshkian called for national unity to heal the wound caused by the January events that caused “great pain” for the country.

The Iranian government acknowledged the deaths of 3,117 people during protests that began in December as a consequence of the devaluation of the rial. Later, however, the events were exploited by the United States and Israel in an attempt to destabilize the Iranian government.

Pezeshkian apologized for the ongoing economic problems and assured that his administration is ready to listen to the voice of the people. He also mentioned that Iran will resolve its internal problems without allowing foreign forces to promote violence among compatriots.

On foreign relations, Pezeshkian thanked the support of Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates in the face of imperialist aggression. He stressed that building fraternal relations in the Middle East is a priority to guarantee peace and stability against enemy attacks.

Concluding his speech, Pezeshkian urged Iranian society to remain united under Khamenei’s leadership to overcome the economic and political challenges imposed by international siege.

On Wednesday, thousands of Iranians mobilized in major cities, counties, and villages to celebrate the triumph of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the movement that ended the U.S.-backed Pahlavi monarchy.

Amid chants rejecting imperialism and Western-backed occupation, protesters waved flags and carried images of Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

The day reaffirmed the national character of an uprising that not only transformed the country’s political and cultural structure but also consolidated a posture of resistance against foreign interference in the region.

March routes were adorned with tributes to the country’s martyrs, highlighting the figure of Gen. Qasem Soleimani and those killed during the “12-day War” unleashed by Israel and the United States in 2025.

In Tehran, authorities displayed a sample of their defensive capabilities, including Nasr and Qader cruise missiles, as well as Haj Qasem ballistic missiles and the wreckage of an Israeli drone shot down last year.

The transition from monarchy to Islamic Republic was recalled as a historic turning point in the pursuit of comprehensive progress and sovereignty.

Local media highlighted that popular will remains the main barrier against external conspiracies, as Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized when urging the nation to demonstrate its determination under any circumstances.

With this massive turnout, Iran sent a resounding message about the endurance of its political model and its firm decision to resolve its internal affairs without allowing intervention by imperial powers.
